In the past year, traffic jams on Baden-Württemberg's highways have increased.
We present the sections where delays were most common.
Stuttgart - Drivers in Baden-Württemberg spent a total of 42,770 hours waiting in slow or stationary traffic.
This emerges from the ADAC's traffic jam balance for 2023, which was published on Tuesday (February 6th).
This means that the waiting time has increased by around nine percent compared to the previous year.
For commuters, professional drivers and travelers, there is probably nothing more annoying than ending up in traffic chaos.
On certain
motorway sections in Baden-Württemberg,
the probability of acidification was particularly high in 2023.

The ADAC counted 42,841 traffic jams on Baden-Württemberg's trunk roads last year, adding up to a total length of 98,452 kilometers.
The area on the A8 near Pforzheim
was particularly affected
.
Between Pforzheim-Ost and Pforzheim-Süd, in the direction of Karlsruhe to Stuttgart, people spent 2,826 hours in traffic jams, writes the mobility club.
As early as 2022, the motorway landed in first place in the traffic jam ranking.
The reason for this is the permanent construction site on the Enztal crossing.

Another section of the A8 takes second place: between
Pforzheim-Ost and Pforzheim-Nord
(direction Stuttgart to Karlsruhe), drivers were stuck in traffic jams for a total of 1,642 hours.
In third place in the inglorious ranking is the
A81
with the section
Stuttgart-Feuerbach to the Leonberg motorway triangle
(1466 hours).
The area is also plagued by construction work due to the renovation of the Engelberg Tunnel and is therefore particularly susceptible to delays.
One of the most dangerous roads in Germany is also located near Leonberg (Böblingen district).

A Friday was the busiest day of the year
When compared across Germany, Baden-Württemberg is one of the traffic jam hotspots.
Only North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria have more traffic problems.
The fact that traffic jams in the state have increased in 2023 could be related to an increased return to work, explains Holger Bach, head of the transport and environment department at ADAC Württemberg.
However, there was an increased risk of ending up in traffic jams for road users in the region, usually on Fridays.
