An employee at Aldi in Schongau found a wedding ring.

The aim is to find the owner by calling the newspaper.

Schongau – It was during one of her shifts in December when Karin Thielmann discovered something sparkling on the floor.

The employee at the Schongau Aldi took a closer look and saw that it was a gold wedding ring lying on the tiles in front of her in the checkout area.

“That’s something unusual,” says Thielmann.

She has been working for the Schongau branch for twelve years, but she has never picked up a wedding ring there.

In the hope of finding the owner of the ring, Karin Thielmann and branch manager Joe Hölzle have now contacted the local newspaper.

The gold wedding ring, which judging by its size belongs to a man, has the woman's name “Martina” engraved on it.

There is also a date in the inscription.

However, this should not be mentioned here to ensure that only the actual owner of the wedding ring comes forward.

Wedding ring found in Schongauer Aldi: Owner should contact the newspaper

One can only speculate as to how the ring was lost.

Thielmann thinks that the ring may have slipped off his finger because it no longer fit properly.

But it could just as well be that it was in the customer's wallet and fell out when paying.

“Or the ring was hanging on a chain that broke,” puzzles Joe Hölzle.

“A lot of things are possible.”

If something goes missing at the Schongauer Aldi, Hölzle usually passes it on directly to the lost property office - often with limited success.

“Our experience has shown that items in the lost property office are rarely picked up,” says Hölzle.

After a few months they come back to his branch.

Since a wedding ring is a very personal item, Hölzle hopes that the owner will now be easier to find.

Otherwise, the branch manager has no choice but to take the piece of jewelry to the lost and found office.

The owner of the ring

can contact Schongauer Nachrichten on 08861/92122 or by email: Lokales@schongauer-nachrichten.de.

By the way: Another wedding ring was recently found in the region.

This lay on the bottom of Lake Lugenau near Böbing for over 50 years and could now be returned to its owner.
