A City Police agent shot and killed an alleged criminal this Thursday
and wounded an accomplice, who was later arrested along with a suspect, when resisting a robbery in the Buenos Aires town of
Villa Celina
.
The violent episode occurred during the
early hours of this Thursday
on the corner of Martín Ugarte Street and Boulogne Sur Mer Avenue, in the
La Matanza
district , in the southwest area of the suburbs.
As judicial spokespersons informed the
Télam
news agency , a police officer who works at Neighborhood Police Station 14A in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo was arriving home dressed in civilian clothes and was surprised from behind by a young man who grabbed him by the neck.
He put a gun to his head and said: "I'll burn you, I'll burn you."
Then, the victim took out his 9 millimeter Pietro Beretta
service weapon
and fired a shot at close range that
hit the assailant's abdomen
, who collapsed to the ground.
At that moment,
a man and a woman
approached from behind and
the agent fired again

The bullet hit the first of them, who still
managed to flee on foot along with his accomplice

Neighbors in the area alerted 911, so personnel from the Villa Celina police station and a doctor arrived at the scene.
There they confirmed the death of the shot criminal, who
