Since 2020, the city of Munich has been offering vouchers specifically for women.
As one post shows, not everyone has heard of the offer.
Munich – “Cool offer, but never heard of it,” wonders a user on X (formerly Twitter).
She posted an article from the city of Munich: It's about vouchers for women, more precisely: women's night taxi vouchers that can be redeemed by citizens between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The condition: The destination address must be a residential address - not the nearest club.

Taxi vouchers for women in Munich: From 2024 there will be a 10 euro discount per trip
The travel vouchers are an offer from the city of Munich that has been available in the state capital since 2020: They are intended to increase the safety and mobility of women in the city.
If a woman doesn't feel safe on the way home at night in Munich, she should be given the opportunity to simply take a taxi.
What's new this year: From January 1, 2024, the subsidy has been increased; instead of the previous 5 euros, women will now receive a voucher worth 10 euros.

One voucher can be redeemed per trip, the 10 euros are then deducted from the fare and the Munich resident only pays the remaining amount.
There are currently vouchers worth 5 euros in circulation - these are also still valid and redeemable, the city says, and the value has increased to 10 euros.
If taxi drivers have not yet found out about the change and only offer a 5 euro discount, you can submit the voucher to the district administration department together with a receipt for the travel invoice.
Every woman can pick up three taxi vouchers per day: the city wants to develop a digital version
The question of where to get the vouchers from is also asked by the X user mentioned at the beginning and she answers her own question straight away: “Of course not digitally, but a yellow piece of paper that you have to get.” This means: every woman aged 16 and over can pick up three vouchers per day, for example at the KVR service counter or in the social community centers.
There is no limit; women can come on as many days as they like to pick up three vouchers.
However: The city is currently also working on a digital version.
By the way, it's not just Munich women who can pick up the vouchers: those who live outside of Munich or tourists can also redeem the discount stamps.
