The two exam phases at the end of the semester are stressful for Munich students.
If you want to learn in the Bib in the state capital, you have to be quick, as a video shows.
Munich – There are two periods of the year that are particularly stressful in most students’ lives: the end of January to March and the end of July to September.
During this time you have to study for exams and write exams and homework.
Many students are drawn to the libraries, also known as “bibs”, to study, out of the student halls of residence or the small shared rooms and into a concentrated and focused environment.
Especially in the large libraries in Munich, every space is highly competitive.
TikTok videos show the rush.
TikTok video shows crowd in front of Munich University Library
The video with the headline: “POV, there is a mosh pit at 8 in front of the library” shows how countless students crowd in front of the door of the Philologicum library on Ludwigstrasse in Munich.
At 8 a.m. the door finally opens and the young people stream into the building.
The video has already been viewed almost 227,000 times (as of February 8th).
Other videos show not only the overcrowded entrance, but also the meter-long queue in front of the library.

Munich students “line up like they’re in a club” – some lack of understanding
Numerous comments collect under the videos.
Some report from their own experiences: “It’s so brutal at the moment” or “Philo is crazy”.
Others can't understand why students do this to themselves: "Where does this motivation come from, I would turn around and go back to my bed", "I don't understand why they just don't sit comfortably at their desks at home and study" or "Jobs “Everyone feels like they’re in a club instead of going to their own FACHbib.”
According to some users, that would probably be the solution: There should be significantly less going on at many other libraries in Munich.
“Go to the chemistry campus, there’s no one there,” recommends one.
