The winter has so far missed out on a lot in February.
Early summer temperatures are now arriving in southern Germany.
It is likely to remain too mild.
Munich - Weather expert Dominik Jung had already seen it coming in January: winter probably wouldn't make a comeback in February.
In fact, at the beginning of the month, not even the north of Germany lived up to the winter month of February.
Instead there was a lot of rain and temperatures in the double-digit plus range.
The spring-like weather is likely to continue in the next few days - there is still no sign of winter.
In Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria in particular, temperatures are approaching early summer.
Mild weather forecast for Germany: up to 20 degrees at the weekend
On Thursday (February 8th) the weather in southern Germany was already unusually mild for this time of year with temperatures around 15 degrees.
But it seems as if it could get even warmer.
Dominik Jung, meteorologist at
wetter.net
, announces: “Instead of the Polar Express, there is the warm Canary Islands jet for large parts of Germany.”
In South Tyrol, temperatures reached record-breaking values a few days ago.

The highest temperatures are expected in the foothills of the Alps and in the Allgäu, with values between 17 and 19 degrees, while in the west at least around 15 degrees can be expected.
According to Jung, peak temperatures of 20 degrees could even be reached in Bavaria thanks to the Alpine foehn.
It is also likely to be very sunny, which means the perceived temperature could be up to 25 degrees, according to the weather expert.
Only the north-east of Germany remains closest to winter conditions with a maximum of six degrees.
After the high temperature on Saturday (February 10th), it cooled down a bit again
However, the spring-like interlude will reach its climax on Saturday.
From Sunday, February 11th, the temperatures will drop again and the sunny weather will also say goodbye for the time being.
The German Weather Service (DWD) predicts that dense clouds and precipitation are to be expected - the snowfall limit in the Alps could drop to around 1000 meters.
But according to Jung, it won't be really cold in the following days either.

The coming week is expected to continue to be mild and changeable, with occasional showers.
According to the DWD, snow could definitely fall at higher altitudes.
Although the maximum temperatures during the day are likely to remain in the double-digit plus range even after Ash Wednesday, February 14th, frost is certainly possible at night, especially in the south.
However, Jung does not predict a major drop in temperatures for the next two weeks.
Weather forecast for March: Meteorologists think “winter” is possible
However, those who are longing for spring should not get excited too soon.
Jung does not rule out the possibility that winter could return again in February or March.
But: “Time is becoming increasingly scarce for an extended wintry weather situation, with permanent frost and a solid snow cover down to low altitudes - the winter is now literally running out of time,” according to the meteorologist’s weather forecast.
After analyzing the ensemble forecasts for the various regions of Germany, Jung concludes that winter is unlikely to return by February 23rd.
An announced drop in temperature with fresh snow in Austria only affects a few regions.
However, it is still too early to say goodbye to winter for good.
According to current models, March will not be warmer than average, says Jung: "After this mild February, a March with normal temperatures could be perceived as cold." A "feels like winter" in March is therefore quite possible, is the meteorologist's conclusion.
