The municipality has around 290 million euros available in its budget and therefore enough money for major investments.

– Grünwald companies can continue to rely on a favorable assessment rate of 240 and thus on a strong location advantage.
As part of the budget consultation, the local council agreed on this continuity, which will also be maintained in all other areas of financial management.
The administrative budget has a volume of 223 million euros, and the assets budget has 68 million euros.
All in all, the budget that will be passed in March has a volume of around 290 million euros and is therefore large, but given the Grünwalder success story it is not yet a record budget.
What is very pleasing: over 26 million euros from the administrative budget are being transferred to the asset budget and are therefore available for investments.
Minimum 170 million trade tax
The treasury had usually chosen an estimate of 150 million euros for trade tax revenue, but this time they were a little more bold and were aiming for a minimum of 170 million euros.
Ultimately, the municipality recorded a very good result in 2023 with 235 million euros in trade tax revenue, as treasurer Fabian Leininger explains to the Münchner Merkur.
And there is actually no reason why the situation should get significantly worse this year.
In Grünwald it is primarily the leasing companies that ensure a colossal flow of money.
Linked to this is the municipality's largest expense, the district levy.
This refers to the money that Grünwald has to pass on to the district.
Last year the figure was around 140 million euros, this year it will be significantly lower at 100 million euros.
An amount must be paid each year that corresponds to the level of tax liability two years previously.
In this case it is about the Corona year 2022, which did not bring in as much income as before.
Per capita debt still at zero
The municipality can act countercyclically and does not have to save extra, like many other municipalities in the district.
So Grünwald invests a lot of money in renewable energies and initiates major investments or completes projects.
Despite all the major projects in the past decades, per capita debt is still at zero euros.
A number that should make neighboring Oberhaching in particular jealous.
Here it is 3378 euros and is therefore higher than the national average (we reported).
A lot of money goes into geothermal energy
As in many years before, the largest part will be invested in geothermal energy - this time 36 million euros.
But over three million euros are also being invested in community photovoltaic systems.
In addition, the eco-building project for municipal employees on Bergheimstrasse costs around four million euros.
The renovation of the swimming pool in the amusement park is budgeted for around two million euros.
The elevator is being installed in the town hall.
That costs around 110,000 euros.

More personnel costs after a tariff increase
As far as ongoing expenses are concerned, the costs for staff in the town hall and in the branch offices are around 23 million euros.
Around 400,000 euros more than in the last budget.
The increase is due to the collective agreement in the public sector.
3.6 million euros are spent on the maintenance and preservation of municipally owned buildings alone.
Here, a lot of emphasis is placed on a quick renovation in order not to have to pay for a general renovation after ten years, which would be significantly more expensive.
