Anyone who travels regularly with Deutsche Bahn needs strong nerves.
Around 50 travelers were unexpectedly stranded in Weilheim on Thursday evening.
Munich – “As a regular train traveler on the Munich-Garmisch route, you always think that you have already seen everything.
But today the DB Regio has once again managed to go one better.” This is what a rail customer from our editorial team writes – but what had happened?

“I was still surprised” – the train simply leaves 50 passengers standing there
At around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, February 8, 2024, the Regionalbahn 65 (RB 65) started as usual from Munich Central Station towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen, with two parts of the train.
The train stopped at the Weilheim stop and took an exceptionally long time.
“I was surprised that we were standing there for so long, but my, the oncoming train is late again,” the train customer continues.
But for her and around 50 other passengers, the journey ends unexpectedly in Weilheim.
“No one could have guessed that the second part of the train with around 50 passengers would be uncoupled in Weilheim and left standing,” says the train customer.
When the lady speaks to a train attendant, he casually refers to the next train an hour later.
Deutsche Bahn admits mistakes and apologizes.
When asked by our editorial team, a spokeswoman for Deutsche Bahn confirmed the incident: “We would like to apologize to the customer.
The mistake was on our side.
The connection was not entered correctly in the train system, so there was no announcement and no indication on the train indicators about the early end in Weilheim.
Normally, the train displays and announcements on the train inform you when a part of the train is disconnected and does not continue to the terminus.
We regret the inconvenience caused to the customer.” So we can only hope that the affected passengers can get to their destination as usual in the future.
