The community foundation aims to support social life in Peiting.

A total of 6,000 euros were distributed this year.

Peiting

– This time, the Peitinger Community Foundation Council invited people to the Anderl meeting café to distribute donations in a celebratory setting.

Mayor Peter Ostenrieder explained that the foundation was founded several years ago for this purpose of financially supporting people who work for the common good.

Only amounts generated would be distributed, supported by donations and interest.

Unfortunately, in recent years, interest rates have not been so great, says Ostenrieder.

Nevertheless, he was pleased that 6,000 euros could be distributed again this year.

Support for the light swing

The light swing is to be supported with 2000 euros.

An association that has existed in Peiting for over 20 years and which could be described as a “women’s and family center,” says Ostenrieder.

He uses the former caretaker's apartment in the Schloßberghalle rent-free.

Five playgroups in the afternoon and two playgroups in the morning are currently part of the light swing's offering, explained Sandra Zedelmaier and Stefanie Haberzeth.

Because they wanted to keep their employees during the corona pandemic, they ran into financial difficulties.

In response to the article in the local newspaper, there was a great willingness to donate locally.

“We are pleased that the club can continue.”

Renate and Werner Hoyer accepted the next donation check, this time for 1000 euros, for the Schongau regional traffic police (based in Peiting).

The association is committed to low-threshold traffic education, explained Ostenrieder, and the traffic police rely on high-quality material such as vehicle and Pedelec simulators.

They go to many events with it.

“If you see them, go and find out,” said Ostenrieder.

Alarm driving training for rescue workers

Chairman Werner Hoyer described traffic education as his “life’s work”.

You train everyone – from kindergarten to seniors.

Mobility is increasing, especially among older people, but e-bikes are easily underestimated.

With the simulator you can try out a Pedelec “without anything happening”.

The same applies to rollators, which some people are afraid to use.

“It takes a lot of effort, but we’re happy to do it,” says Hoyer.

In order to prevent as many accidents, injuries and deaths as possible.

Another important offer from the regional traffic police: alarm driving training is offered for fire departments, the Red Cross or local helpers.

Blue light driving can be simulated and practiced under real conditions.

This is also what they want to use the donation for.

Support for the parish and holiday program

Pastor Robert Kröpfl also accepted a check for 1000 euros for the Peiting-Hohenpeißenberg parish association.

“A symbolic share,” says Ostenrieder.

Because of the broken wooden belfry, there has been no ringing of bells in the market town for some time.

The renovation costs around 230,000 euros, which the parish has to cover alone.

Unfortunately, you fall under the new regulation that the church only supports when the Eucharist can no longer be celebrated, explained the priest.

But it is hoped that the bells can ring again as an “important call sign” in the summer.

A big anniversary is coming up this year for the Peitingen holiday program: there have been offers for children during the summer holidays for 30 years.

The then youth advisor Monika Ludwig launched the project in 1994.

And the big birthday should be celebrated accordingly, says Ostenrieder.

A party in the Schloßberghalle is planned for October, said Stefanie Strauß from the holiday program team.

In addition, we depend on donations so that all courses and excursions, including bus travel, can be offered affordably to everyone, she explained and accepted a check for 2,000 euros on her behalf.
