On New Year's morning, a previously unknown man stabbed a 43-year-old in Salzgitter and critically injured him.
Now a suspect has been arrested.
Salzgitter - After a life-threatening knife attack in Salzgitter, the police have arrested a suspect.
The 14-year-old is accused of stabbing a 43-year-old on New Year's morning, police announced on Friday.
According to this, among other things, information led the officers to the trail of the suspect, who was arrested on Wednesday and then taken into custody.
On New Year's Eve, the victim is said to have alerted a group to wrongdoing, it was said at the time.
The 14-year-old then stabbed the man multiple times without warning.
The victim then had to undergo emergency surgery.
The police opened an investigation into an attempted homicide and were looking for witnesses.
In addition to the alleged perpetrator, the other members of the group are now also known.
According to police, the investigation is ongoing.
