An Attal government ultimately not very tight, rather young and very Ile-de-France

Highlights: A third of the ministers are elected from Île-de-France. Half have kept their position with the Borne team. A quarter have changed portfolios and a quarter are new. The youngest, Marie Lebec, is 33 years old. It is only for full-time ministers that the Attal team is the tightest. But not by much (13 today, 14 for Barre 2, Chirac 2 or Jospin). A tighter government?

This was Emmanuel Macron's promise;

and his pride after the appointment, on January 11, of only 11 full ministers - in addition to Gabriel Attal.

But, with the additional list, the new team now has 35 members: the Prime Minister, 13 full ministers, 16 delegate ministers and 5 secretaries of state.

This is certainly less than the 42 of the Castex and Borne governments, but more than the 30 of that of Édouard Philippe.

Throughout the Fifth Republic, 21 “cabines” were tightened, including those of Michel Debré, Georges Pompidou, Édouard Balladur, Lionel Jospin, Dominique de Villepin and François Fillon.

It is only for full-time ministers that the Attal team is the tightest;

but not by much (13 today, 14 for Barre 2, Chirac 2 or Jospin).
