Highlights: For the first time in its history, the National Gallery of Umbria is organizing a series of initiatives dedicated to small pets. Starting from Valentine's Day, guided tours will be organized to discover the real and fantastic animals present within the works of the museum collection. Up to a maximum of ten small animals (up to 10 kilograms) will be admitted only if held in the arms or in the carrier. The visits - explains the museum - will last approximately 45 minutes and also include a moment of break in which the animals can circulate on a leash in a protected area.

For the first time in its history, the National Gallery of Umbria is organizing a series of initiatives dedicated to small pets, which will be admitted into the museum rooms together with their owners.

Starting from Valentine's Day, guided tours will be organized to discover the real and fantastic animals present within the works of the museum collection.


    On February 14th at 1.30 pm and 6.00 pm the director Costantino D'Orazio himself will lead a free visit, upon purchase of the entrance ticket.

Reservation is mandatory by emailing gnu@sistemamuseo.it. Up to a maximum of ten small animals (up to 10 kilograms) will be admitted only if held in the arms or in the carrier.


    On 16 February, on the occasion of the "Mi illumino diMeno" event promoted by Radio2's Caterpillar programme, thanks to the support of a sponsor, the Gallery will be extraordinarily open until 10.30pm, last entry 9.30pm.

The visits, organized by the Educational Services staff, will take place at 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm (free, upon purchase of the entrance ticket): booking is mandatory by emailing gnu@sistemamuseo.it and the same rules apply for pets allowed.


    Also on 17, 18 and 24 February, at 12.00 and 17.00, free guided tours, with Educational Services staff.

    The visits - explains the museum - carried out in compliance with the veterinary police regulation approved in 1954 and updated in 2021, will last approximately 45 minutes and also include a moment of break in which the animals can circulate on a leash in a protected area, away from the works of art.


    Starting from February 24th, a dog-sitting service will also be activated, created by Bauadvisor in collaboration with Sistema Museo.
