Pretty and pitch black – that’s how the Gelnhausen animal shelter describes the dog Crna.
The cub from Croatia is looking for a new home.
Gelnhausen – The lively Mudi-Malinois mix Crna from the Gelnhausen animal shelter is looking for her new family.
The dog, which comes from the Croatian Animal Aid, has been living there since November 2023 and gets along very well with her peers, as the animal shelter reports on Facebook.
She is agile, bright and likes to be kept busy.
A bit impetuous and young, but very motivated to learn: This is the dog Crna
Crna is one and a half years old, neutered and, according to the description, can still be “a bit impetuous in contact with people”.
However, the animal shelter assures that she gets involved with people wonderfully once she has built up trust and security in a person.

The pretty, jet-black dog is particularly suitable for people who are familiar with the Malinois breed, reports the animal shelter.
The dog needs sensitivity in handling, but she also needs to be shown boundaries.
The Malinois is the short-haired version of the Belgian Shepherd and is often used as a sporting and service dog.
Malinois dogs are eager to learn and work.
The Mudi is a Hungarian dog breed and is often kept as a working and herding dog.
The Gelnhausen animal shelter was recently in the headlines because a visitor illegally fed the dogs and thereby endangered them.
The Croatian dog Crna enjoys learning
This is also reflected in Crna's nature.
Because of her age, she still needs some training, according to the animal shelter.
When she was looked after by a dog trainer, she turned out to be a quick learner and seemed to enjoy it a lot.
She especially has a lot of fun outside in meadows, where she is “very motivated to hunt.”
That's why her new owners have to work with her on a reliable recall.

The Gelnhausen animal shelter recommends adopting Crna into a family with a confident first dog with whom the dog would probably get along well.
The animal shelter cannot say how she reacts when dealing with cats.
Children should be a little older and have experience with dogs.
Families who are interested in giving Crna a home can contact the animal shelter via the email address webmaster@tierheim-gelnhausen.de.
Information about what needs to be considered before adoption can be found on the animal shelter's website.
