Goalkeeper Matheo Raab is making his second division debut this season for Hamburger SV.
The 25-year-old displaces regular Daniel Heuer Fernandes.
Hamburg - HSV coach Tim Walter surprisingly made a goalkeeper swap for the top game in the 2nd Bundesliga against Hannover 96.
For the first time this season, Matheo Raab will guard the Hamburger SV goal in a league game on Friday (6.30 p.m./Sky).
He played his only second division game for HSV to date on October 8, 2022.
The 25-year-old initially replaced regular goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes against Hannover.
This season Raab was used in three DFB Cup games.
Heuer Fernandes, who has been undisputed for a long time, has recently no longer acted as confidently as usual.
