Cocaine imported from Guyana, assault rifles: vast drug trafficking dismantled in the Var

On Tuesday, the police arrested nine people suspected of having taken part in this vast trafficking rampant in the Val des Rougières district.

54 kilograms of cannabis resin and 35,000 euros of cash were seized from the suspects' homes, as well as from a box located in another town.

A dozen weapons, including two assault rifles and two submachine guns, were also discovered by law enforcement.

The network imported cocaine from Guyana

The investigation to identify the leaders of this network, however, started from a simple information carried out on the site

“moncommissariat.fr”

following a police operation carried out in the Val des Rougières district.

Seized of the case, the Toulon public prosecutor's office and its prosecutor Samuel Finielz had authorized the judicial police to carry out investigations and technical surveillance as part of a preliminary investigation subsequently entrusted to an investigating judge.

As early as October 2023, nearly 49,500 euros of cash had been seized from the home of the parents of one of the heads of the alleged network.

The investigations also allowed investigators to discover that the network was importing cocaine from Guyana.

The nine suspects arrested were placed in police custody and should be brought before the investigating judge this Friday.
