There were more than 2,500 candidates, only 20 reached the semi-final of the LVMH Prize, the prestigious prize rewarding young creation from the world's luxury leader.
These twenty brands are now applying for a place in the final, hoping to win the precious LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers worth €400,000 (and a year of mentoring by a dedicated team), but also the Karl Lagerfeld Prize, endowed with €200,000, or the new know-how prize, endowed with the same sum.
Among the names to follow, those of the Italian Niccolò Pasqualetti, already a semi-finalist in 2022, the Frenchwoman Pauline Dejancourt, or the talented Belgian Marie Adam-Leenaerdt, graduate of the prestigious La Cambre school which is presenting her collections in the Paris Fashion Week calendar, and the Dutch Duran Lantink, whose first Parisian show last September won over the critics.
For the first time, brands from Togo (Agbobly), Moldova (Fidan Novruzova) and Mexico (Campillo) reached this stage of the competition, clearly showing the international aura of the competition which revealed talents like Nensi Dojaka , Marine Serre and, last year, the Japanese Satoshi Kuwata of the Setchu brand.
“
This year again, I am very happy to welcome so many talented young designers and I would like to warmly thank the designers from around the world who participated,”
declares Delphine Arnault.
This edition is distinguished by unique proposals under urban influence or marked by the return of a sophisticated feminine wardrobe.
Many of these brands place research and aesthetic requirements at the heart of their approach.”
To reach the next round, they will have to seduce a jury made up of industry experts (from model Bella Hadid to stylist Emmanuelle Alt, including the president of Comme des Garçons Adrian Joffe), but also the public: from 29 February to March 5, it is possible to vote online for your eight favorite candidates.
Those receiving the most votes will be able to present their work, at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, to the final jury made up of artistic directors from the LVMH group houses.
