A technical defect in a horticultural business in Bad Wiessee caused a fire.
There was high five-figure property damage.
Bad Wiessee – Due to a technical defect and heavy smoke, the Bad Wiessee and Rottach fire departments were deployed on Thursday, February 8th.
The incident occurred in a horticultural business in Wiessee.
Fire due to technical defect in company building in Bad Wiessee: property damage amounting to 80,000 euros
According to the Bad Wiessee police station, the reason for the fire in a gardening and landscaping business in Bad Wiessee yesterday around 3 p.m. was a technical defect.
A 32-year-old employee noticed strong, acrid smoke coming from the boiler room on the ground floor.
The man, himself a firefighter, first tried to extinguish the smoke himself, but after unsuccessful attempts alerted the local fire department.
The fire departments from Rottach-Egern and Bad Wiessee extinguished the fire using respiratory protection.
According to the police report, the boiler room burned out completely, and an adjacent flower shop was also affected by the smoke.
The material damage is currently estimated at around 80,000 euros.
Around 40 men from the Rottach and Wiessee fire departments were involved in the extinguishing operation, including the fire brigade management of the Miesbach district.
There is also the BRK with four emergency vehicles and eight rescue workers, including an emergency doctor, as well as the Bad Wiessee police with three emergency vehicles and four officers.
