Prince Harry gave a funny speech at the NFL Honor Awards.
There was nothing to indicate that he had recently met his father, King Charles, who was suffering from cancer, in London.
Las Vegas – King Charles III
(75) received the frightening diagnosis of cancer just a few days ago.
Does his son Prince Harry (39) think it's not all that bad?
At least that's what you might get from listening to his current speech.
The royal, who retired from royal service in 2020, met his father in London on February 6, 2024. He then immediately flew back to the United States.
At an award ceremony in Las Vegas, he joked in a speech and didn't mention his sick father at all.
Short trip to London: Prince Harry only saw King Charles for around half an hour
A shock diagnosis such as cancer usually brings even people who are at odds back together.
Royals are no exception and it was no surprise that Prince Harry traveled to London after his father, King Charles, was diagnosed.
What was surprising, however, was that the meeting between father and son at Clarence House - the first in 16 months - lasted
just half an hour, according to the British daily newspaper
The Sun.
And after just 26 hours on home soil, Harry was already back on the plane on the way back to the USA.
He is said not to have seen his brother, heir to the throne Prince William (41), during the visit.
At the NFL Honors, an awards show for achievements in football, Prince Harry appeared publicly for the first time after his short trip to the United Kingdom.
At the event, he presented the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award to Pittsburgh Steelers player Cameron Heyward (34).
“I'm in shock.
This is Prince Harry,” said the athlete.

But Harry apparently forgot for a moment that he was a prince, because he gave a speech more like a comedian.
Among other things, he joked that the Americans had “stole rugby from us” and “made it their own thing”.

“Instead of passing backwards, you just pass forward.
Why not wear pads and a helmet?
Of course, an offense and a defense – that makes sense.
And why not take a breather every 15 seconds?
And you know what?
Instead of a 10-month season, we'll just make it 18 weeks.
Brilliant."
He then added a little more seriously: “All joking aside, what you do on and off the field is truly remarkable.
You are role models for millions in the way you behave and the way you give back.” Nice words to the athletes.
But King Charles received no mention.
