The country house furniture company Unterluggauer returns to Unterhaching, and in the former “Kammerloher” on Maibaumplatz things continue with innkeepers who are well known in Oberhaching.

– Anyone who passes Unterhachinger Maibaumplatz at the moment will notice a very busy craft business.
Because something new is being built in two buildings: the traditional “Kammerloher” inn, which closed in November 2023, is scheduled to reopen as a Greek restaurant in March, and 50 meters further on, the Unterluggauer family-owned country furniture company, which was its headquarters until 2000, is moving into the former Commerzbank building in Unterhaching.
Landlords from the former “Restaurant Aphrodite” in Oberhaching are making a new start
As the Münchner Merkur learned, the landlords of the former “Restaurant Aphrodite” in Oberhaching are preparing for a new beginning in Unterhaching.
The background is that the previous location at Deisenhofen train station had to be abandoned due to the renovation of the building.
On the website of the “Restaurant Aphrodite” you can read: “Dear guests and friends, we regret to inform you that we have permanently closed our restaurant as the building is being demolished.
We are trying to find a solution as soon as possible so that we can soon welcome you to a new location nearby.” This location is apparently the “Kammerloher” directly on Unterhachinger Maibaumplatz.
The former “Kammerloher” is being rebuilt.
A Greek restaurant is scheduled to open here in March.

Commerzbank branch was empty for ten years
What is already official is what happened a few meters further on Hauptstrasse 49: The Unterhachinger Commerzbank branch was closed there at the end of 2021, which angered many customers at the time - after more than two years of vacancy, its future use has now been determined.
The entrepreneur Unterluggauer, who specializes in individual country house furniture, is returning to its roots and moving its headquarters from Haar to Unterhaching;
The building is currently being renovated and the store is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2024.
The Unterluggauer family business came to Unterhaching in 1983
The history of the Unterluggauer family business began in 1961, and in 1983 the traditional specialist for custom-made interior furnishings in country house style moved to Unterhaching: to Grünwalder Weg.
The change followed in 2000: Unterluggauer left and a Lidl store took over the building.
The family business, now in its third generation, then operated at several locations: in Holzkirchen, Munich Moosach and Haar, which has been the company headquarters since 2005.
And now: back to Unterhaching.

Building and location perfect
“We became aware of the building at Hauptstrasse 49 because it had been empty for a while,” says Gerti Unterluggauer to the Münchner Merkur.
“After viewing the property, it quickly became clear that it could be optimally used for the company headquarters with a planning office and exhibition space.
The size as well as the central location and the transport connections are ideal, the Unterhaching S-Bahn station and the motorway are only a few minutes away." Extensive construction work is now underway - among other things, a lift will be installed for accessibility, "so that the range from furniture, kitchens to the fabric studio can be viewed on three floors.
Economic development agency speaks of enormous enrichment
The move from Haar to Unterhaching is “planned around July/August,” says Gerti Unterluggauer.
For the old Haar location, this means: “Customers will soon be able to get one or two bargains in the clearance sale, as not everything will be moving with us.” In the Unterhaching town hall, press spokesman and economic development officer Simon Hötzl noted the revival at the maypole with goodwill: This small detail Business in the heart of Unterhaching is “an enormous asset”.
