"More than a crisis, an opportunity."
Javier Milei is convinced that, despite the impact that the rejection of the Omnibus Law by the dialogue blocs had on the government's roadmap, he has all the tools to guarantee the direction that he intends to give to the economy and that opens up a concrete political possibility to
bet on the polarization between "freedom or caste"
, an axis that without the visibility given to it by the heated debate that took place in Congress would hardly have permeated among the people.
However, and despite the fact that this Thursday the spokesperson Manuel Adorni had left the door open,
the President believes that there is no room to call on Argentines to do their part to solve
politicians' problems.
"I never rule out alternatives, but
I don't think there is any mood to go to the polls after the number of times we had to vote last year
," was the response he gave from Israel to an interlocutor who consulted him from a distance, at a stop on his third - and last - day of activities in Jerusalem, before continuing on his way to Rome to meet with his Italian counterpart, Sergio Mattarella, the prime minister, Giorgia Meloni;
and The Vatican, where he will have his first audience with Pope Francis.

What will the Government do after the reversal of the Omnibus Law.
The head of state wants to differentiate the discomfort he showed towards the governors and deputies who - he considers - "betrayed" not only the agreement they had made with the government but also the contract with the 56 percent of the electorate that opted for a profound change in the Argentina;
of what he implies in terms of management for his administration:
"The course is guaranteed and the fiscal balance is not negotiated
," they repeat from those around them to bring peace of mind to the markets.
"It is within the possible scenarios that we did, (Luis) Toto Caputo has all the tools to continue ordering the macro variables, there is no reason to worry," they complete.
On the contrary, for Milei, having lost the battle in Congress and having been forced to withdraw the project that, in his own words, had been "dismembered" by the opposition, gives him a political chance: "Not having negotiated with the caste that demanded changes, the 'give and take' of politics, guarantee that being in power did not change him and that he does not compromise. And in the medium term they will allow him to ask people to choose between 'freedom or caste' in the legislative elections," they reason from the presidential environment.
"And people already said very recently that they do not want to have anything to do with politicians and their privileges," they complete.
That same voice compares this situation with what happened after the debate prior to the runoff, when the reading of analysts, media and political leaders was that Sergio Massa had widely won the contest, but the collaborators of the libertarian leader assured that the position he had assumed the then Minister of Economy generated rejection in society.
"Here it is the same: everyone thinks it is a crisis for the Government and in reality it is the opportunity to show how the caste acts," he summarizes.
The President, points out a senior official,
will be in charge of making visible "every time he can" how "the resistance of politicians to losing privileges" translates into the lives of Argentines
, as he did in a meeting organized by Fuente Latina, a civil organization with which he met in Jerusalem.
There he dealt with "criminals" who "steal from Argentines" and the governors and deputies who rejected the law.
Beyond the media, in the medium term Milei warns that this first setback will help him propose a purge of Parliament.
The fact is that, although the mid-term elections are still too far away and it is indecipherable to anticipate the political scenario that will exist in 2025 in Argentina, among the officials closest to the head of state they risk proposing a slogan for the campaign: "We can ask "the people who, just as they took the caste out of the Casa Rosada, now take it out of Congress."
