Overall, Emmanuel Macron, who visited Israel shortly after October 7, has a very positive attitude towards the Jewish state, although fundamentally French policy has not not changed.
But in this ceremony, I especially saw a tribute to French Jews and their attachment to France.
They have been a model of integration in the Republic and in French society since 1791;
they are one with the French nation, whatever their opinion regarding Israel.
Even the unfortunate French victims of October 7 took this love of France with them.
