At the origin of the application, Nordine Attab, TV columnist on France 5, in the field of health and sport.

This Loirétain took on the challenge of getting young people who are increasingly cloistered at home behind their screens to move.

So when the Loiret departmental council contacted him wishing to carry out a sports project for young people, the partnership proposal came at the right time.

“Today, we have the wind at our backs, children are running towards a sedentary lifestyle,” Nordine, himself the father of a teenage daughter, tells us.

Mouv'it offers challenges in the form of the number of steps to be taken in a defined time, ranging from 1,000 to 4,000 steps.

Challenges specifically designed to make the activity accessible to all.

Instructive videos, accompanied by various tips on sleep and nutrition, also guide participants throughout their journey.

Gifts to win

The challenges, spaced one to a few days apart, are presented in such a way as to keep users engaged.

For example the ultimate challenge which extends over six months, coinciding with the Paris Olympic Games.

The goal is to accumulate 175,000 steps, or a distance of 115 km.

Distance equal to crossing the Loiret from West to East.

Unlike a sporting competition, Mouv'it emphasizes participation rather than performance.

To encourage young people to take on the challenges, gifts are up for grabs.

The awards are not reserved for elite athletes, but accessible to everyone.

For each successful challenge, a draw offers the possibility of winning cinema tickets, places for OLB meetings, vouchers for manga, and many other prizes provided by around twenty local partners.

“Before, we got yelled at to get home, now we have to yell at them to get them out.

» This is where the application takes on its full meaning, the primary objective of which is to combat the sedentary lifestyle of young people.

The WHO (World Health Organization) recommends one hour of physical activity per day.

However, according to a study published in 2020, for ages 6 to 17, only half of boys respect this recommendation and a third of girls.

A social network

“Before, you had to walk two to three kilometers to go to school,” recalls Christian Braux, president of the Aging well, housing inclusion and sport commission of the Loiret departmental council.

Mouv'it positions itself as an application that promotes the health and well-being of young people, while creating a community.

A social network, because users will be able to compare and share their completed challenge.

The application, now local, is expected to multiply in other territories in France.

Communities from neighboring departments have expressed their interest in this application, welcomes Christian Braux.

The application is already accessible and downloadable on Google Play or Apple Store.
