Highlights: Nearly 4,400 signatories of the petition from the Bordeaux and North Gironde Family Associations, posted online on Monday, are calling for its cancellation. A decision on whether or not to maintain this internship must be made by February 14. “I think it will be canceled,” whispers to Le Figaro a source close to the matter, who evokes “a management whim” to explain the programming of this controversial workshop. ‘This drag queen course is controversial, but it should be a riot of angry parents,’ says MEP Jérôme Rivière.

While registrations have been open for almost three weeks, the “drag course that breaks the codes” organized by an MJC in Mérignac only has 4 registered, aged 11 to 15, far from the 12 required for the program to be maintained .

Nearly 4,400 signatories of the petition from the Bordeaux and North Gironde Family Associations, posted online on Monday, are calling for its cancellation... And only 4 children, aged 11 to 15, registered in three weeks.

The

“drag course that breaks the codes” organized by the MJC CLAL of Mérignac, a

“popular education”

house

financed by the CAF, the Gironde department and the town hall (296,226 euros in 2022, Editor’s note), could be canceled .

The reason: the too low number of participants, which must reach the minimum number of 12 people by February 14 to be maintained, like any activity of this MJC.

“I think it will be canceled

,” whispers to Le

Figaro

a source close to the matter, who evokes

“a management whim”

to explain the programming of this controversial workshop.

Defending

“the political exploitation of the discovery of the art of drag”

,

“the expression of all diversity”

and

“the fight against all forms of discrimination”

, the president of the MJC CLAL, Fabienne Duhant, ensures that this course is intended to allow its participants

“to gain self-confidence and to get to know themselves”

.

In a press release of support, the Regional Federation of MJC de la Nouvelle Aquitaine deplores the opposition to this activity which aims

“to promote LGBTQI+ culture, identity and gender”

among children in order

to “open up possibilities with demand for respect for the dignity of each person

.

This drag queen internship is controversial, but it should be a riot of angry parents.

This dangerous woke ideology must be fought without limit

Sexualization of children

And this is what the voices against this week of workshops criticize this MJC, which consist of teaching children to put on makeup, to parade in heels and to put themselves on stage in a drag performance.

While around twenty protest calls and emails were received by the popular education organization on Thursday, comments are also pouring in under the petition to denounce the sexualization of children.

“LGBTQ excesses have become an abomination to the fragile and developing public that are our children”, “It’s decadent and scandalous, stop the machine of destruction”, “Leave the children alone and let them keep their innocence” ,

these Internet users shout openly.

An indignation, relayed and shared by several political figures.

“Congratulations to the parents who oppose these activities, which with too much public complacency, intentionally spoil the emotional construction of childhood

,” supports the former deputy and candidate for the presidential election, Jean-Frédéric Poisson.

“This drag queen course is controversial, but it should be a riot of angry parents,”

says MEP Jérôme Rivière.

This dangerous woke ideology must be fought without limit.”

“Leave our children alone!”,

shouts Marion Maréchal

.

A decision on whether or not to maintain this internship must be made by February 14.
