The official Oktoberfest poster for Oktoberfest 2024 has been announced.

A jury chose the winner, who comes from Munich.

Munich - Every year there is a competition for the official Oktoberfest poster of the season.

The competition for this year is over - Annika Mittelmeier (33) from Munich won the race.

In the end, her motif, which focuses on the Munich child, convinced the jury.

A woman from Würzburg took second place with her design, and a woman from Augsburg took third place.

Winning poster is “Invitation to the whole world”

The winning design was chosen on Friday (February 9th) by Oktoberfest boss Clemens Baumgärtner.

“Our winning design embodies the tradition and modernity of the Oktoberfest, radiates unconditional joy of life and is at the same time an invitation to the whole world to celebrate the Oktoberfest with us in Munich,” said the economics officer.

The winner, Annika Mittelmeier, has many wonderful memories of the Oktoberfest, according to a statement from the city - she herself is also an original Munich child.

The 33-year-old studied art and multimedia at the LMU and has been working as a graphic artist and designer since 2016.

Beer mugs, dirndls, pretzels, Herzal & Co. decorate the posters

The motifs that came in second and third place also combine the classic Oktoberfest symbols.

The second prize went to Sarah Schuhmannist: stein, dirndl, Breze, Herzal & Co. decorate her colorful poster.

Just like that of Reinhold Singer, at the center of which is the Ferris wheel.

The winners receive 2,500 euros for first place, 1,250 euros for second place and 500 euros for third place.

The winning motif will also appear on licensed items and posters, and it will also adorn the official series beer mug - which has been around since 1978.

Construction for this year's Oktoberfest should begin earlier than usual

Preparations for the largest folk festival in the world are already in full swing behind the scenes.

Construction on Theresienwiese will begin earlier than usual, said Baumgärtner, without giving a specific date.

So far, construction started at the beginning of July, but landlords complained that this didn't leave enough time.

“The construction must not be at the expense of those who do it,” said Baumgärtner.
