Even 13 years after their DSDS participation, Pietro Lombardi and Sarah Engels are still big stars.
But what does the third guy from back then actually do?
Heidelberg – “Germany is looking for the superstar” will soon be entering its 21st season, once again with a new jury.
RTL still sees the casting show as a successful format.
However, only real fans can remember the non-winners of the 17th round.
But there was a time when DSDS was still a national event, a big topic of conversation that was burned deep into the memory.
And it sometimes produced very lasting stars.
The eighth season from 2011 was one of those.
These three fought for victory on DSDS in 2011: Pietro Lombardi, Ardian Bujupi and Sarah Engels.

Pietro Lombardi (31) won this, Sarah Engels (31) came second.
The rest is entertainment history: The two fell in love, had a son together, Alessio (8), and separated amidst great media attention.
And they are still omnipresent today, whether with their music, as influencers or as regular producers of gossip news.
But what about the third guy who fought for victory?
The name should still be familiar to watchers from back then: Ardian Bujupi (32).

In 2012 Bujupi took part in “Let’s Dance”.
He never stopped making music and, in addition to Germany, he also focused on Austria, Switzerland and Albania as markets.
Several albums made it into the top 100 of the German charts, but they didn't stay there for long.
Now the 32-year-old is making a new attempt: he has released a new song.
“Paparazzi” is the first single from the upcoming album “Vegeta,” the responsible agency announced in a press release and describes it as “between Afrobeat and Amapiano, Dancehall and Jersey Club”.
It was created in Heidelberg, in Bujupi's newly furnished studio complex, where he had productions flown in from Germany, Kosovo and the Netherlands.
Bled from Kosovo was at the controls for “Paparazzi”, who in the past has not only worked for Ardian Bujupi, but also Noizy, Dafina Zeqiri and Capital Bra.

DSDS third Ardian Bujupi relates new album title to anime series
“A lot has happened to me recently,” explains Ardian Bujupi.
“I didn’t want to release an album that I didn’t give my full attention to and that just came about on the side.” The album title refers to the anime series “Dragon Ball Z,” which is no coincidence.
“I've always been a big fan of the series and have always compared myself to Vegeta,” explains Ardian.
“At the beginning he is stubborn, but over the course of the series he changes into a positive character.
I think I've been underestimated, belittled or put in a drawer for a long time, but the fact that I've been so relevant as an artist for over ten years now proves me right.
I no longer have to prove anything to anyone, but I know what I can do.
This is exactly how I imagined being a musician.
This is everything I ever wanted.”
