5:4 in the fifth vote: A narrow majority in the Planegger building committee gives priority to the subjective feeling of security over thrift.

The public toilet at Planegger train station will be built next to the bus stop.

Planegg

- The public toilet at Planegg train station will be on the east side of the bus stop, adjacent to the Bahnhofstrasse 42 building. The local council's building committee needed five votes on Thursday until this was decided by a vote of 5:4.

The reactivation of the toilet facility in the former Heide-Volm beer garden failed again.

Last December, the building committee dealt for the first time with the cross-party proposal from the FDP, gG21 and FWD to set up a public toilet at the train station, similar to the one that has been in place for several years at the Gräfelfing and Lochham train stations and, in a somewhat fancier version, at the leisure area can be found on the Anger an der Würm.

Barrier-free and self-cleaning

At that time, the town hall brought the disused beer garden toilet into play, which was rejected by the majority as not practical.

On Thursday, the administration provided information and named three possible locations: on the south side of the station forecourt, once close to the train station, once close to Café Richter and on the north side, adjacent to the bus stop to the east.

“It is not an inexpensive solution,” said building authority manager Andreas Löbe about handicapped-accessible and self-cleaning toilets.

He estimated the smallest unisex outfit at 75,000 euros.

Including the costs for the foundation and branch connections, 100,000 euros are expected.

The upgrade of the beer garden toilet of the former Heide-Volm, including path lighting, was estimated at 15,000 to 20,000 euros.

The beer garden toilet had its supporters.

“It’s a luxury to spend so much money and build a new toilet when we have one at Heide,” explained Michaela Erdmann (CSU).

And Philipp Pollems said: “We want to spend 100,000 euros on a toilet that we will put there for two years and then no longer need, just because 80 meters is too far.” Angelika Lawo (gG21) countered: “Not the length of the path to the Heide-Volm toilet is the issue, but the isolation.” In addition, it is not clear whether work on the new station district can begin in two years.

The local council is currently developing a concept.

Mayor Hermann Nafziger: “We need a few years.”

Time frame open

Lawo expressed “concerns due to the security situation” in the evening in the dark on the way to the beer garden toilet, which is secluded south of the Heide-Volm ruins, and spoke out in favor of the location at the bus stop.

“This will also eliminate the terrible Dixi toilets for bus drivers, which are a disgrace.” She received support from Michael Book (CSU), who said: “Heide is not about the term comfortable, but rather about the term safety.” Pollems, managing director of a security services company, disagreed: “We live in one of the safest areas in the entire world.

The population's feeling of security is extremely high.

Nobody is afraid.”

The first vote was invalid because Max Gum-Bauer (FWD) abstained, which is not possible according to municipal regulations.

Then there was a 5:4 majority for the location east of the bus stop and the beer garden toilet.

Ultimately, the beer garden toilet was rejected 5:4 and the bus stop was approved 5:4.

“We can work with the vote,” said Mayor Nafziger.

When asked by Merkur, he did not want to give a time frame.

If the toilet house is available, it can be done this year.
