Three letters which now make rain or shine over their property, deciding whether or not they can continue to rent it out in the years to come.
The energy performance of housing, evaluated according to a scale ranging from the letter A to the letter G, is now sovereign.
The most energy-intensive buildings, classified G, will be excluded from the rental market from January 1, 2025.
Stricter standards
Then will come the turn of housing decorated with the letter F in 2028;
and in 2034, that of properties classified E. Objective of the public authorities: to eradicate thermal sieves from the French rental stock, by forcing their owners to undertake costly energy renovation work.
