The big carnival parade on Raging Thursday in Landsberg has an aftermath: the song “L'amour toujours” was played on the Landjugend Hohenfurch float - to which the members of the Landjugend loudly chanted “Foreigners out!”

Hohenfurch/Landsberg – Colorful, loud, happy: That’s how carnival should be.

And that's how we know the carnival parade on Ragged Thursday in Lechstadt.

This year it wasn't quite like that: “We found out about the incident this morning through a video.

And we strongly condemn this,” says the chairman of the Landsberg carnival association Licaria, Thomas Bihler, who is also a member of the Elferrat, when asked by the Landsberger Kreisbote.

This is “not a stupid boy prank”.

Right-wing extremism is not accepted, “it is absolutely unacceptable.”

The club and also the Elferrat called for active action against extremism.

“We stand by our fellow foreign citizens,” many of whom were also involved in the carnival.

The association has already spoken to the Hohenfurch rural youth group and excluded them from moving next year.

When asked on the phone, the board of the Landjugend Hohenfurch Moritz Taufratshofer is audibly contrite.

“I sincerely apologize on behalf of the rural youth.” Something like that is absolutely not tolerated: “None of those on the car want something like that.

None of us in the club are xenophobic: that’s not us, that’s not the club.”

Charges of sedition

Taufratshofer also describes the incident again: “We played this song, “L'amour toujours”, in the original version.

But then, as in the videos that are currently circulating on social media and that people also know, the people on the car sang along with the calls for foreigners to get out.

But certainly not one with bad intentions.” But of course they would have to bear responsibility for it.

He will now talk to the club members about the topic before every carnival parade so that something like this doesn't happen again.

According to information from the Kreisbote, a report of sedition should be filed with the Landsberg police.

The public prosecutor's office will then determine to what extent there is incitement to hatred.

According to information from two lawyers, chanting “Foreigners out!” does not automatically constitute sedition.

According to state security services and public prosecutors, this is an “initial suspicion of incitement to hatred”.

The Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe ruled in one case that the slogan alone did not violate human dignity.

However, in August 2017, the Magdeburg regional court convicted a defendant of sedition because he chanted the slogan “Foreigners out” at a demonstration

The fact that "Foreigners out!" is chanted to the song "L'amour toujours" by Gigi D'Agostino at several events and in discos became known primarily through the incident at the disco in Greding, Central Franconia, in January, among other things AfD members chanted to the song “Germany for the Germans, foreigners out”.

The Weilheim constituency representative Benjamin Nolte was also there at the disco, but does not claim to have heard the shouts.
