The air fryer without oil is the new “must have” in the kitchen.
It sold like hotcakes last year, with the French clearly ready to invest in the most advanced technologies to do without fat, but not fries.
With a turnover tripled in one year, and more than a million devices sold, this fryer currently equips 14% of French homes.
This is still low compared to Anglo-Saxon countries.
But this is phenomenal growth, in a market for small household appliances that is stable in 2023 and even down 4.6% for cooking appliances.
Able to replace an oven

All the advantages of frying, without the disadvantages.
In addition, this fryer is not limited to fries since it can cook meats, vegetables, pastries... It often complements an oven, but can also replace it.
“The air fryer without oil was the star category of Black Friday and Christmas,”

It responds to the desire to eat healthy, and its energy consumption is lower than that of a conventional oven.
Its renewed interest since the end of Covid has been driven by many influencers on social networks.”
With Actifry, Seb was the inventor in 2006 of the oil-free fryer: a round fryer operating with a blade system.
The hot air fryers that are popular today are much more practical and versatile.
They are rectangular with one or two drawers, where you can cook different foods without mixing them (chicken on one side, fries on the other for example).

Seb is the leader, with around twenty electronic or mechanical models, costing 40 to 200 euros.
But it is a leader with increasing competition, with all manufacturers of small household appliances determined to capture their share of the market.
