The cancellation of the DFB Cup game in Saarbrücken and the pictures of the puddles from Ludwigspark caused a stir.
The catch-up date has now been set.
Saarbrücken - The canceled DFB Cup game between 1. FC Saarbrücken and Borussia Mönchengladbach will not be rescheduled until March 12th.
The German Football Association announced this on Friday.
The last quarter-final game is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. (ZDF and Sky) in the Ludwigsparkstadion.
Because the pitch was under water, the encounter between the cup terrors from the 3rd division and the Bundesliga club on Wednesday evening was canceled at short notice.
The draw for the semi-finals (April 2nd and 3rd) will take place this Saturday in the ZDF “Sportstudio” (from 11 p.m.) with a double draw (Saarbrücken/Mönchengladbach).
If Saarbrücken were successful, they would have home advantage again.
The Saarlanders have been having problems with their turf for a long time, and the league game next Sunday against SpVgg Unterhaching will not take place as planned.
