Four women and four men want to make a difference in local politics in the municipality of Polling in the future and have therefore now founded the eighth local branch of the Green Party in the district.
The necessary formalities were carried out quickly under the direction of district association spokesman Martin Adler - “a total affair of the heart,” said Brigitte Gronau, Green city councilor from Weilheim.
Polling - Some of the eight members have been with the Greens for a number of years, but according to their own statements, they were also formerly "filers" with the CSU or SPD.
In order to show alternatives at the local level, as it was said, there are very different motivations for the newcomers.
One expressed fear for the future of the young generation, another reported the difficult confrontation with her friend, who sympathizes with the AfD.
The goal they all have in common is to get on the local council in the local elections in spring 2026 in order to actively work for polling in the committee.
Because the Greens would take care of issues “that others don’t have on their radar,” stated Adler.
You can't always just demand changes but not do anything about it, said Tatiana Morlock, who was unanimously elected spokeswoman for the Polling-Etting-Oderding local association.
The 41-year-old moved from Munich three years ago with her husband and two children and is represented in the Green Party by 47-year-old master brewer Fabian Schneider.
Katharina Noack acts as secretary for the new local association.
