Overall, the Dual System Germany (DSD), the disposal of recyclable packaging, is a very lucrative business - also for the district.
Erding - The environmental committee of the district council now dealt with the annual financial statements of the DSD Erding district for 2021. And they show an annual profit of almost 420,000 euros, as treasurer Markus Siecheneder reported.
In the disposal concept, the district has only been linked to the DSD through certain contracts in accordance with the Packaging Ordinance for over 20 years, according to the draft resolution.
You are permitted to use the municipal waste disposal infrastructure, especially container areas.
The district receives money from the DSD for this.
According to Chamberlain, the profits achieved are always carried forward to the new invoice - with considerable and, above all, increasing amounts.
In 2011, the reported profit was almost 180,000 euros.
In 2015 it rose to 650,000 euros and in 2020 to 783,000 euros.
In 2021, a seven-figure amount was achieved for the first time with 1.2 million euros.
With DSD, the consumer pays for disposal at the same time as the purchase price in the supermarket.
