The Brest company Teatr Piba, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, has been at the origin of several original creations in its chosen fields;

This time, its new production goes further: after its partnership for “Merc'h an eog” (“

”, in Breton), in 2016, with the National Theater of Wales (
Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru
) where the surtitling brought together French, Breton, Welsh and Creole, she unveils her latest creation, “Nos Voies Lactées” (“
Hentavoine gwenn
”), produced in French, Breton and French sign language, entirely accessible to the deaf public signing.
An astonishing production which mixes languages and means of expression, while integrating the performers into the piece, making them become characters in their own right - a real bridge between different cultures and languages.

“Our Milky Ways” is intended to be a sort of “investigative work”, where the question constantly arises: “where does this civilization of milk come from?”

With David Wahl, who writes most of our shows and Sébastien Durand, researcher in cuisine and materials, we left industry and the agri-food industry in Brittany to finish our journey and our story... in Turkey.
The play, which features two actors who are children of peasants (Mona Caroff and Benoit Plouzen-Morvan), Sébastien Durand, whose cuisine will cross the stage to the audience, and Thumette Léon, a deaf actress from Finistère, poetically recounts the transformation and the consumption of this milk that we have always seen as nourishing, but above all the relationship with the living.
After residencies and partnerships in Brest with the Dérézo company, the Maison du Théâtre and even the Quartz, the first national provincial stage which has just reopened its doors, “Nos Voies Lactées” began, at the start of 2024, its first tour in the French rooms.
The play returns to Brittany this Sunday February 11 and Monday February 12, at L'Atelier culturelle de Landerneau.
