On February 8, 2024, Heino will visit the Vienna Opera Ball for the first time.
The pop icon is looking forward to the event, but real estate mogul Richard Lugner shows little understanding for it.
Vienna – It’s that time again: the much sought-after Vienna Opera Ball opens its doors.
This year too, the crème de la crème of the celebrity world was invited to the State Opera.
Also on the guest list: pop icon Heino (85) – but businessman and Opera Ball regular Richard “Mörtel” Lugner (91) doesn’t seem to like it much.

And like every year, Austrian businessman Richard Lugner spent a lot of money to be accompanied by a real A-list celebrity.
This time at Lugner's side: Hollywood star Priscilla Presley (78), the widow of rock legend Elvis Presley (†42).
Heino has to appear at the high society event without the company of his recently deceased wife Hannelore (†81).

And Richard Lugner doesn't like that at all, as he made clear in an interview with
kurier.at
: "He's in a year of mourning and shouldn't go." Harsh words from the 91-year-old.
Heino has already reacted to Lugner's statement: "Of course I would rather be here with my wife Hannelore, but I hope that I will also have as much fun," the Austrian daily newspaper quoted the pop star as saying.
Richard “Mörtel” Lugner is looking for an opera ball companion in Hollywood
The 91-year-old's state ball escort makes headlines every year, as the real estate mogul now likes to hire Hollywood stars as escorts.
In 2023, for example, Richard Lugner was accompanied to the State Opera by US actress Jane Fonda (86).
Without Hannelore: Heino's first visit to the opera ball
In January it was announced that Heino had received an invitation to the state ball and that the hitting legend would be attending the event for the first time.
The musician actually wanted to experience the Opera Ball together with Hannelore, but unfortunately it is no longer possible for him, as he himself says: “I had always planned it with Hannelore, but unfortunately God put a stop to our plans.”
