An Audi driver was chased by the police on the night from Friday to Saturday.

The chase ended at the Röhrmoos sports center, where the Audi burst into flames.

The driver and possible passengers fled.

They are suspected of having prepared an ATM explosion.

Röhrmoos/Hohenkammer – “Film-worthy scenes like those from a blockbuster took place in the Dachau district,” as the THW Dachau reported on Saturday.

On the night of Saturday to Sunday there was a wild chase after an attempted ATM explosion.

According to THW, the perpetrators raced through the district and tore off the oil pan of their vehicle; at the Röhrmoos sports field they were unable to continue due to a lack of oil.

Here they set their car on fire.

The police do not fully confirm these statements.

All that is confirmed is that a suspicious observation in Hohenkammer (Freising district) may have been preparations for an ATM explosion.

When a patrol responded, the suspicious car drove away at high speed.

The patrol started the pursuit.

The perpetrators escaped.

The burning vehicle in Röhrmoos is related to the operation.

According to the police, it is unclear whether the vehicle caught fire or was set on fire by the perpetrators.

Eyewitnesses reported a column of smoke at 4 a.m. at the Röhrmoos sports field; the helicopter was in use for several hours.

According to THW, the Röhrmoos volunteer fire department was able to put out the fire quickly, but the fire still affected the tank and fuel leaked into the ground.
