Emmanuel Macron had announced it: the national tribute to Robert Badinter, who died on Friday at the age of 95, will take place on Wednesday at Place Vendôme, opposite the Ministry of Justice.
The former Minister of Justice under socialist president François Mitterrand (1981-1986) was a fervent campaigner for the universal abolition of the death penalty.
