Agua y Saneamientos Argentinos (AySA) reported this Saturday afternoon that the fire at the Caballito substation affects the operation of a key plant for the City.
This is the
Elevator Station
that is located in that Buenos Aires neighborhood, a few blocks from the electrical installation that was on fire, and that is not receiving electricity.
"For this reason the company requests to make
rational use of the service
," they asked from AySA.
As a consequence, they launched a "contingency plan", which reinforces the distribution of drinking water with pumping from the Flores Lifting Station, the Centro Lifting Station and the Devoto Lifting Station.
The neighborhoods that could experience
low pressure or lack of water
are: Caballito, Flores, Floresta, Boedo, Balvanera, Almagro, Palermo, Nueva Pompeya, Parque Avellaneda, Parque Chacabuco, Parque Patricios, Recoleta, San Cristobal, Villa Crespo, Villa Santa Rita and Villa Soldati.
Users in the Buenos Aires towns of Piñeyro (Avellaneda) and Valentin Alsina (Lanús) could also have problems with their taps.
