Schliersee – The new double sports hall in Neuhaus was inaugurated.

An open day in May will allow all citizens to admire the building.

“If you have a goal in mind in Schliersee, then you will find a way.

Others find a reason why it doesn’t work, but you find the way,” said architect Annette Rill, praising the market town.

People were talking about the hall 50 years ago and the first plans were drawn up 25 years ago.

The construction took a long time.

TSV board member Wolfgang Schauer said proudly: “It’s been a long road.

But now the hall is finally finished.”

Construction time of 22 months, construction costs 28 percent higher

Things went comparatively quickly on the home straight.

“We had a total construction time of 22 months,” reported Rill.

2021 has been advertised.

“But no one could have expected that Russia would invade Ukraine in February 2022,” said Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer and, like Rill, recalled hurdles during the construction period such as Corona and the Ukraine war with all the accompanying consequences.

Rill believes that a delay in the opening by a few months is normal.

“The cost calculation was 9.6 million euros,” she said.

The total costs are now 12.3 million euros – an increase of 28 percent.

Since the construction price index rose by 36 percent during this time, not a bad result.

“Everyone pulled together,” says Schnitzenbaumer, pleased that what is “certainly the most beautiful sports hall in the entire district” is now finished.

And he thanked his administration and especially managing director Jörn Alkhofer: “We have him to thank for the fact that it worked so well and in a timely manner.”

The builders were the market town and TSV Schliersee

Architect Heinz Blees created the first drafts free of charge for TSV Schliersee 25 years ago.

It is particularly nice for Wolfgang Schauer that Blees also accompanied the project during the construction phase.

It was built in a building community consisting of the municipality and TSV Schliersee.

In this merger, the mayor particularly highlighted Andi Leitner and board member Schauer.

“It just works together,” said Schnitzenbaumer.

The TSV contributed 300,000 euros of its own and thus received funding from the BLSV.

It would not have been possible without donations from citizens.

The sports hall was built for school and recreational sports, but also for the work of the Schliersee sports clubs.

“Maybe one day this circle will produce another Olympic medalist, right Markus?” asked the mayor with a wink towards Markus Wasmeier.

Around 80 invited guests accepted the building community's invitation to officially inaugurate the new dual sports hall in Neuhaus.

Pastor Hans Sinseder, deacon Alois Winderl and the Protestant pastor Ilka Huber came to give the hall and the athletes an ecumenical blessing.

Children from elementary and middle school gave a small contribution and did gymnastics on the new equipment.

There will be an open day in May.
