The 17th edition of Light in the Hearts was also the most successful so far.

Almost 220,000 euros represent a new record for the Erdinger/Dorfener Anzeiger readers' aid organization.

Erding – When people stand together, they can achieve a lot.

This is evident in the Erding district year after year.

People's willingness to help is huge.

They have a heart for the needy and the sick, regardless of the crises that affect them.

And they also open their wallets for this.

This year, 219,950 euros were raised for “Light in the Hearts”, the Erdinger/Dorfener Anzeiger readers' aid organization.

A new donation record!

We say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

“Light in the Hearts” has been committed to helping the needy and sick in the district for 17 years.

We have built up a strong network and work with many neighborhood help groups, clubs and social organizations.

They know what concerns people have and how they can help quickly and unbureaucratically.

100 percent of the money goes where it is needed.

There are no administration costs.

This is how we can alleviate suffering in many ways.

Be it after a serious illness or the loss of a job.

All of this not only brings suffering and disappointment, but also financial burdens.

Because as Rita Reichwein, chairwoman of the Walpertskirchen Neighborhood Aid, so aptly said: “Strokes of fate come without prior notice.” This is where the neighborhood aid organizations step in with financial help, personal support or benefits in kind.

In view of the price increases, more and more people are reaching their financial limits.

Even the purchase of a new washing machine shakes up the fragile cost structure.

Many single parents are also plagued by existential worries and often do not know how they will survive until the end of the month.

Or seniors who, with their meager pensions, can hardly afford to live in a boom region like Erding.

Neighborhood assistance, Caritas, Red Cross and senior citizens' facilities - supported by the Readers' Aid Organization - are committed to helping you get out of worry and loneliness.

We made it clear that poverty has many faces and often remains hidden with an initiative in villages that highlighted the needs of those in need.

There was also a panel discussion accompanied by a film and photo exhibition as well as an art auction.

Our readers were particularly touched by the fate of an Erdinger woman (36), who has been suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) for more than four years.

Blood washes contribute to improvement and pain relief.

Thanks to “Light in the Hearts” more are possible.

There is also great joy among a Bockhorn family whose two children have a rare genetic defect.

Thanks to the donations, the necessary therapy bike can be purchased.

The association for therapeutic riding in Taufkirchen and the Fendsbacher Hof, which was able to buy a new therapy horse, also received support.

And the St. Nikolaus special education day care center can purchase a special vehicle for its children.

The donations also make it possible for the Sophienhospice, palliative team and hospice association to provide more care for the seriously ill than the health insurance companies pay.

Every single donor contributed to the fact that a fantastic 219,950 euros were raised.

To achieve this, children did handicrafts, choirs and orchestras gave concerts, clubs offered St. Nicholas services, birthday children gave up gifts and companies gave up customer presents, and women and village communities passed on the proceeds from bazaars and festivals.

In addition, numerous banks and companies have once again shown themselves to be very generous.

We would like to thank everyone who supports us.

The “Light into the Hearts” campaign continues because help is needed all year round.
