The businesswoman and landlady Hilde Wohlfahrt from Bad Tölz has died at the age of 103.

She was the oldest woman from Tölz.

Bad Tölz - Her commitment as a businesswoman and landlady of the Höckhen House on Tölzer Markstrasse, her hard work and discipline as well as her commitment to preserving the house's ancient traditions have apparently kept her young.

Hilde Wohlfahrt died on January 21st at the age of 103.

She was the oldest woman from Tölz, as the city administration confirmed to our newspaper.

Mourning for Hilde Wohlfahrt: It was only in her last two years that her strength weakened

Until 2019, Hilde Wohlfahrt was always in the café to chat.

The house's annual Christmas market was particularly close to her heart, for which she sewed nativity figures for many years.

It was only in the last two years of her life, when her strength began to dwindle and she was increasingly dependent on care, that she lived in a retirement home.

Born in Munich in 1920, she was the youngest master hairdresser in the state capital during the war.

She was proud of that.

When she was bombed out, she found a safe place to stay with relatives in Bad Tölz and met August Wohlfahrt, whom she married in 1949.

Wohlfahrt was the owner of the historic Höckhen House with a wine bar, restaurant and café, which has an almost legendary reputation in the city and far beyond.

First mentioned in a document in 1352, there was a wax and gingerbread factory on the property for centuries.

Johann Jäger was born there in 1667 and was one of the insurgents of 1705 who held their secret meetings on the upper floor of the house.

Hilde Wohlfahrt felt obliged to preserve historical heritage

The history of the house gave August and Hilde Wohlfahrt an obligation to preserve the historical heritage.

With its decorative façade, its wonderfully old-fashioned flair and its valuable memorabilia, the house still breathes the spirit of history.

That's why it was a matter of honor for her husband to found the rifle company here in 1955 together with 39 other men.

When her husband died in 1988, Hilde Wohlfahrt continued to run the business in his spirit.

She also joined the rifle company because it was a natural and passionate concern for her to continue to maintain the solidarity.

Hilde Wohlfahrt was also a member of the nativity scene association and the historical association.

When she traveled, she almost always went to Lake Garda.

She and her husband had three daughters, two of whom continued the business.
