1250 years of the Neuching Synod: Mayor Thomas Bartl takes stock.

What should remain of the festive year:

Neuching – What a year 2023 was in the community of Neuching: The 1250th anniversary of the synod brought events that will be remembered for a long time.

Mayor Thomas Bartl beamed as he looked back: “I’m just very happy with how everything went.

There was definitely skepticism about some points in advance.”

He remembers with horror the race before the start on April 23rd.

The ceremony was supposed to take place in the new sports hall, but it was not clear for a long time whether it would be finished on time.

He sweated blood and water, says Bartl.

Work was still going on until the day before the festival: “Fortunately, we apparently had God’s blessing.” Finally, Reinhard Cardinal Marx came – his visit was a huge honor, said the mayor.

The house and farm chronicle was also presented on this day.

It is still very popular today: “You always find something new, and I also like browsing through it,” says Bartl and reveals: “The AK Chronik wants to continue.” This is how the busy group around former mayor Hans Peis and amateur historian Josef Kressirer present it in the near future a work about the local personalities.

But Bartl was most pleased that all the skeptics about the hall had been convinced.

The maypole was soon erected at the new location in Niederneuching.

They are extremely satisfied with the place: “Coming from Erding you drive straight to it, it’s just beautiful,” enthuses Bartl.

So many people came to the festival that the organizers had to set up more tables.

We went into nature at the beginning of June when the AKNU presented the new hiking trails, including three benches to relax on.

The community did not organize the anniversary celebration of the Oberneuching boys' club, but they still stood by as a partner.

Bartl was thrilled with what the boys had achieved: “It’s just amazing!”

The cultural association also received a lot of respect for its open-air theater in five acts about the history of the community.

Under the leadership of Florian Fink, the theater people wrote everything themselves, “some with humor, some with seriousness,” as Bartl summarizes.

The props were also “amazing”: the military jeep, for example, was provided by an older vintage car fan from Lüß.

The total of 70 people who took part in the five performances were delighted by the sold-out evenings.

The community received bad news regarding the concert evening.

The headliner Schandmaul had to cancel.

The actual supporting band Tanzwut made themselves available as the main act.

A lot of people came to the gym.

Bartl: “Normally there would have been around 50 more if the S-Bahn trains hadn’t been canceled that day.” But even so, it was a nice evening, Bartl thanks all the helpers.

Shooters, cultural clubs, footballers, dirndls, private individuals: the people of Neuching could rely on them.

At the same time, the medieval market took place next to the sports hall.

A huge success, the number of visitors was not expected.

Bartl reveals: “We are already in discussions and it looks good that there will be a market like this again this year.” And then even with some innovations.

At the Kirdafest, too, people flocked to the Ertl- and Kuhn-Hof in Lüß in droves.

Thankfully, they made their locations available.

District home administrator Sandra Angermaier got involved, and so a festival was created that showed the development of agriculture from then to now.

The day before there was folk dancing in the festival tent: “The dance floor was full the whole evening.” Later in the year, the sports hall was full at the Citizens' Ball, even though ticket sales were slow at first.

Here too, a repetition is not ruled out, but very likely.

It got a little colder during the Advent calendar evenings at five locations in the municipality.

Bartl would like to thank the families Ismair (Oberneuching), Ismair (Niederneuching), Lanzl (Harlachen) and Ertl (Lüß) as well as district home nurse Angermaier, who spoke, among other things, about Advent customs and the origin of the Krampus.

There was a run of dark characters during the Christmas market in Niederneuching - he too was pleased with a strong turnout.

The successful but also strenuous year ended with the New Year's Eve celebration at the sports hall.

In addition to the many helpers from the clubs and private individuals, Bartl does not want to forget his administration: “An incredible number of hours, some of them private, were invested there for the synod celebration.” The building yard also had a lot of work.

The community wants to thank everyone with a big meal.

Finally, Bartl says: “We are all very proud.

But also glad it’s over.”
