This year we're celebrating Carnival with juicy quark balls from the hot air fryer!

A fluffy, sweet treat that can be prepared in just a few minutes.

Whether Mardi Gras, Fasnacht or Carnival, the fifth season is not only the time of colorful costumes and exuberant parties, but of course also of delicious treats.

In addition to bright parrot cakes, crunchy hats also often end up on the paper plates, which are then washed down with a big sip of carnival punch.

Quark balls are an absolute must at every carnival party.

They are juicy, fluffy and simply irresistible.

Like Berliners, they are traditionally fried in hot fat.

Pretty impractical, says Simply Tasty editor Sandra.

That's why she created a recipe for sweet quark balls that you can easily bake in the hot air fryer.

This not only saves time, but also a shower after preparation to wash the smell of chips out of your hair...

For quick quark balls from the hot air fryer you need these ingredients:

No carnival without quark balls!

Simply Tasty editor Sandra shows how quickly you can prepare these in a hot air fryer.

  • 250 g quark

  • 3 eggs

  • 100 g + 2 tbsp sugar

  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar

  • 1 packet of baking powder

  • 350g flour

  • 50g butter, melted

Preparation in the air fryer is quick and easy:

  • Preheat the hot air fryer to 160°C.

  • Mix the quark, eggs, 100 grams of sugar and vanilla sugar in a large bowl.

  • Mix the flour with the baking powder and gradually stir in until a smooth, slightly sticky dough forms.

  • Form the dough into small balls (this works best with floured hands), place each in buttered silicone muffin cups and place them in the proofing basket of the hot air fryer.

  • Brush the quark balls with butter and bake for 13 minutes.

Turn once halfway through the baking time.

  • Remove the quark balls from the hot air fryer and roll them directly in the remaining melted butter and sugar.

    Zack – done!
