WE TESTED - It took almost two years of work to reinvent the most emblematic of the seven hotels at Disneyland Paris and transform it from a Victorian style to a royal atmosphere. We were present at the inauguration.

It is without a doubt the jewel in the crown of Disneyland Paris.

With its pink Victorian facade, this emblematic five-star hotel which adjoins the park has just reopened its doors after a facelift of almost two years.

When you enter, through the east wing of the building, you are immediately immersed in an atmosphere combining magic, luxury and history.

The chandelier that overlooks the reception hall catches the eye.

Made from Bohemian crystal, this luminaire bearing the image of Sleeping Beauty's castle not only illuminates this lobby with its medieval and Napoleonic inspirations, it illuminates a new refined and elegant style.

But when Snow White and Cinderella appear, at the top of the stairs, on the arms of their princes, the magic happens.

Planted in the middle of libraries full of old trompe-l'oeil books, we are instantly immersed in a world conducive to living an extraordinary royal experience.

Beds fit for the Princess and the Pea

On the upper floors, long corridors lead to the 487 rooms and suites of the Disneyland Hotel.

Whether standard - called "superior" - or more luxurious, like those in the Castle Club, the rooms in the four categories are reminiscent of those in the largest hotels.

So, these televisions cleverly hidden in the mirrors, these mattresses covered with several layers of quilted sheets that Andersen's Princess and the Pea would surely envy or these towels so soft that Pumbaa would rub against them well after a bath.

Here, the references to the Disney universe are discreet but the paintings which overlook the beds allow visitors to sleep under the protection of the Snow Queen or the Little Mermaid.

The faces of Snow White and the seven dwarves which adorn the bathroom mirrors allow you to brush your teeth while humming.

But customers eager for total immersion can rest assured.

For them, the Walt Disney Imagineering decoration teams have recreated, in the higher category rooms, atmospheres dedicated to the studio's greatest hits such as an Ice Palace in the Frozen Signature Suite or a majestic four-poster bed for the suite dedicated to Sleeping Beauty.

In this establishment belonging to the “first French hotel chain for families” (according to an MKG study), children are kings.

The Royal kids club welcomes the youngest to take part in the fairy tale by allowing them to become the protagonists of their favorite Disney stories but also inviting creativity since the “Magic Library” offers toddlers aged 4 to 11 years old give them interactive experiences in augmented reality.

And to completely immerse yourself in imagination and daydreams, what could be better than a dress-up trunk and a makeup box?

By appointment, some good fairies do not hesitate to come and transform the little ones…

Two restaurants, two atmospheres

“La Table des Lumières” takes place in a ballroom inspired by the Hall of Mirrors.

Haute gastronomy is inevitably part of castle life.

Now, this is probably the nicest surprise of this establishment.

The two restaurants at the Disneyland Hotel allow visitors to vary the atmosphere.

On the one hand, “Le Royal Banquet” offers an all-you-can-eat buffet where the tastiest cold cuts rub shoulders with exquisitely fresh seafood and where the visual appearance of the pink and green cakes is matched only by their flavor.

Without forgetting a royal cheese platter that one of the maîtres d'hôtel serves with contagious appetite.

At “La Table des Lumières”, service takes place at the table in a ballroom inspired by the Hall of Mirrors and surrounding a rotating statue of Beauty and the Beast.

Right next door, at the Fleur de Lys Bar, you can't resist the pleasure of tasting a playful mocktail or a glass of champagne from the exclusive vintage of the Disneyland Hotel, produced by Maison Pierre Mignon near Epernay.

At the Castle Club, you can drink your coffee in Limoges porcelain from Maison Haviland.

Because like all the areas of the hotel, these dining areas illustrate the healthy choice that Walt Disney Imagineering made to integrate more than 200 French and European craft companies into the restoration of the establishment to promote our know-how.

The rotunda distributing all the wings of the hotel was designed by CEMAD, a company specializing in layout and carpentry since 1877. The Lyon company Dutel provided 3,000 meters of fabric to fashion the 27,777 pieces of costumes. staff, and the artisans of Tissage des Flandres - who have been making high-end tapestries for over 130 years - collaborated on the creation of the woven portraits which adorn the Royal Banquet.

At the Castle Club, you can drink your coffee in Limoges porcelain from Maison Haviland and in the Signature Suites, some decorative pieces are by Aelier Bournillat.

Swimming pool, spa and meditation space

But the Disneyland Hotel being above all a luxurious retreat to prolong the magical experience of a stay in an exhilarating amusement park, it also houses two essential haunts: the swimming pool and the spa.

Protected by an elegant glass and metal canopy reminiscent of the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken in Brussels, the “Crystal Pool and health club” brings together around a swimming pool, a paddling pool, a sauna, a hammam, a whirlpool bath, a fitness room sports and a space for meditation and yoga.

But to relax after a day of attractions, the Spa By Clarins and its four treatment cabins remains the best place.

Beyond the brand's signature treatments, a special leg message has been designed for walkers and little ones will also be able to treat themselves to a well-being break since a range of products has been specially designed for them by the Nougatine Paris brand. .

So many elements that make the Disneyland Hotel a luxurious and warm place that allows its visitors to offer a unique experience and prolong the emotion provided by the adventures offered by an amusement park.
