Neustadt - Two people were seriously injured during tree felling work in Rhineland-Palatinate on Saturday.
First, a man was trapped under a tree in Neustadt (Wied) around midday, as the fire department announced on Saturday.
The man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The tree fell in a different direction than planned and onto a tractor, a spokesman said.
A person was trapped.
Around two hours later, a man was also seriously injured while felling trees in a forest in Krautscheid.
The man was reportedly trapped by the root of a tree.
The fire department freed the man and he was taken to the hospital in a rescue helicopter.
