The Frédéric-Dard cinema, named after the successful author who lived in the town for a long time, has been buzzing since Wednesday and will continue to be so throughout the next weekend in Les Mureaux.
The 3rd edition of the French-speaking youth film festival brings together a selection of twelve feature films from around the world and accessible to all generations.
The opening night set the scene with the screening of “It looks like the planet Mars”,
by Stéphane Lafleur, prize for best Quebec film 2023.
In this Olympic year, sport is also on display with boxing (“Comme un Prince” by Yvelinois Ali Marhyar, partly filmed in Les Mureaux) and women’s football (“Marinette” by Virginie Verrier).
This Saturday, special effects or voice dubbing workshops are offered to families (free for children under 8 years old).

Goldorak, Astroboy, Captain Flam… robot toys in Versailles
They have become cult for several generations of children!
San Ku Kaï, Astroboy… more than 300 Japanese robots from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s can be discovered at the Espace Richaud in Versailles.
Mostly owned by France's greatest collector, Baptiste Caillaud, they trace the history of these funny toys from the land of the Rising Sun and which inspired numerous cartoons.
Enthusiasts will be able to discover other, rarer pieces, distributed only in Japan, such as the Japanese Barbie.
