driver for a travel application
shot and killed one of the three alleged criminals who tried to steal his vehicle in the Buenos Aires town of Quilmes this Sunday.
The incident occurred around 6:30 in the morning, at the intersection of 890 and Santa Fe streets, west of that town in the southern suburbs, where the officer was
on duty and dressed in civilian clothes
, aboard his gray Peugeot 206.
According to sources, the sergeant, who works at Almirante Brown, was approached by three false passengers who had requested a trip.
Once inside the car, the criminals threatened the driver with a firearm pointed at his head, grabbed him by the neck and took his cell phone and cash.
"Hit him, shoot him, shoot him
," one of the accomplices said to the person carrying the gun, according to an investigator.
Under these circumstances, the driver managed
to remove his service pistol from under his legs
and fired at the attackers, one of whom was shot, while the other two escaped.
After the escape, the injured man, identified by the justice system as
Cristofer Espinoza Quispe, a Peruvian national
, was transferred to the Iriarte Hospital in Quilmes, where
he died from his injuries
.
Meanwhile, the weapon used by the attackers was not found in the police car, but a cell phone and a charger were seized.
The case was in charge of prosecutor Jorge Saizar, from the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 5 of Quilmes, who ordered that the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) carry out the necessary procedures in an attempt to clarify what happened.
The judicial spokesmen added that proceedings were initiated for "qualified robbery and gang robbery with an unknown weapon", and also for "homicide", while efforts continued to locate the two suspects who fled.

the 21-year-old police officer was off duty and dressed in civilian clothes
, on the sidewalk and accompanied by two friends.
According to sources, under these circumstances two young people arrived at the scene on a motorcycle and the one who was accompanying them stole the police officer's cell phone, although he dropped the device while trying to escape.
Faced with this situation, one of the friends runs away, while the other threw his cell phone inside the house they were in front of.
The sources indicated that upon noticing this situation, the same
armed criminal pointed his gun at the chest of the police officer's friend
who had just discarded his cell phone to force him to enter the house.
The thief entered the house, seized the mobile phone and when he was about to get on his accomplice's motorcycle, the police officer called to stop, so the "motochorro" pointed it at him.
According to the spokespersons,
the agent
of the Tactical Unit of Immediate Operations (UTOI) of San Martín,
fired several shots
, one of which hit the armed criminal who was unable to shoot and was removed from the scene by the driver of the vehicle. .
Shortly after, an 18-year-old suspect was abandoned by a motorcyclist at the Eva Perón hospital in Merlo, where he died from gunshot wounds with an entry hole in the groin, with no way out.
Meanwhile, the investigations established through images from municipal security cameras that these two suspects had been the perpetrators of the assault, while this afternoon they continued with the efforts to identify and locate the second "motochorro."
What happened is investigated by personnel from the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 6 of the Morón Judicial Department, who did not adopt any temper with the police officer, who was unharmed like his friends.
