Jeff Bezos makes money.
For the first time since 2021 the billionaire sells Amazon shares, around 12 million, for a sum exceeding two billion dollars.
An announced sale - at the beginning of February he declared that he would sell 50 million Amazon shares in the next 12 months - which projects him towards the top of the global Scrooge, where Elon Musk's leadership is wavering between Tesla's difficulties and the court decision of Delaware to wrest from him the maxi compensation of 55.8 billion that the electric car giant had paid him.
For Bezos, the sale comes at a good time.
After collapsing in 2022, the shares of the online sales giant have launched an almost unstoppable run thanks to the cost-cutting plan launched by CEO Andy Jassy, including the reduction of thousands of jobs.
Moving his residence from Seattle, Washington state, to Florida also allows Bezos to avoid capital gains taxes, thus increasing his fortune which has already grown by 22.6 billion since the beginning of the year to 199, 5 billion.
Since stepping down from the helm of Amazon in 2021, Bezos has focused on his Blue Origin fulfilling his dream of going into space, and on philanthropy by pledging to donate the majority of his wealth to fighting climate change and supporting efforts of those who want to unite humanity in the face of ever-increasing social and political divisions.
But above all he dedicated himself to his private life making headlines for his 'alternative' looks and for his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez, with whom he is expected to get married soon.
Bezos and Sanchez have been inseparable since 2018, when the billionaire divorced MacKenzie Scott, his wife of 25 years.
Their relationship was first revealed publicly by the tabloid National Enquirer, when the Amazon founder was still married.

“We're thinking about what our wedding will be like, where it will be,” Sanchez said in an interview with Vogue last November, assuring that it is his intention to take the last name Bezos.
"100%, I can't wait to be Mrs. Bezos," she said, confessing that she hadn't yet thought about the dress she would wear to say her final yes.
Nothing is yet known about the exact date of the wedding but, for sure, it will be one of the events of the year.
