The Unterbrunner boys invite you again on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to their carnival procession, which is known far beyond the district.

Fun is guaranteed.

Unterbrunn

– This weekend there will be work in many stables and barns in Unterbrunn.

What is created are 14 carnival floats that go around the village on Tuesday from 2 p.m. for general amusement.

Although: There could be more.

“It does happen that someone prepares a car at the last moment and joins in,” says head boy Hannes Göschl.

In fact, the guys make sure that the effort remains manageable.

“That’s important to us, we don’t want any crazy party cars,” says Göschl.

That's why the wagons are in the barns either whole or dismantled into a few components and can be quickly assembled if someone has a flash of inspiration.

Finding a topic also generally works at short notice: “We meet twice beforehand, always on the Wednesday before Carnival,” says Göschl.

There is no fixed motto, creativity is given free rein.

What are the cars all about this year?

The two of them remain silent.

“People should come, look at it and be really thirsty,” says boy Valentin Fink with a wink.

Collector Hermann Geiger's car, which traditionally addresses a local political issue, is likely to attract particular interest again.

What is certain is that the train will set off from the village square from 2 p.m. and will make a 1.5 kilometer lap through Unterbrunn.

The entourage is traditionally led by a float on which music is played, this time by the Seefeld brass band.

There are no amplifiers, the boys deliberately keep their carnival traditional.

It was precisely for this, maintaining the tradition, that they received the community's Blade Prize last year.

It goes without saying that food and drink are provided.

In front of the fire station there is bratwurst (4.50 euros) and drinks (Augustiner beer from a bottle 3.50 euros, but also water).

This is part of the carnival hustle and bustle that starts in the village from 1 p.m.

If the crowds are as big as on the last train - the first after a two-year Corona break - then more than 1,000 visitors can be expected.

The boys are particularly looking forward to the sweepstakes in the multi-purpose hall, which can finally be celebrated again after SV Unterbrunn worked with the community to eliminate the fire protection deficiencies.

The band “Roy” is playing, whose singer Norbert Lindau is at home in Unterbrunn.

The highlight is the traditional funeral of Prince Carnival at midnight.

Amidst general lamentation, boy Luis Ruschig will give the eulogy - and then it's all over.
