A new recruit for Horizons.
The president of the Pays de la Loire region Christelle Morançais, who left Les Républicains in 2022, announced on Sunday that she was joining Édouard Philippe, the only one who, according to her, can embody a “right of unity”.
“I choose to join Édouard Philippe and move forward alongside him in the service of positive, strong and courageous action for the future of our country,” wrote Christelle Morançais, 49, who has chaired the region since 2017, on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

The “only one” who can embody a “right of assembly”
“I do it for him, Édouard Philippe: a man whom I respect, for whom I have friendship, with whom I have not always agreed on everything, but who deeply loves the French, who believes to the strength and nobility of politics, and who fights so that it escapes immediacy, brutality and populism, where so many others would like it to sink…” explains Christelle Morançais.
“I do it for my convictions, that of a right that I want to be lucid, modern, open, connected to the very complex issues of our time,” she writes, believing that the former Prime Minister and mayor of Le Havre is the “ alone” to be able to embody a “right of assembly”.
