From the perspective of the state election management, the partial repeat of the federal election got off to a “quiet” start.

As of 12 p.m., voter turnout was 25.4 percent.

This means that turnout at this point was 2 percentage points lower than in the 2021 main election, as the state election management announced on Sunday.

In September 2021, in addition to the election to the Bundestag, there were also elections to the House of Representatives, the district council assemblies and a referendum.

Berlin - The elections at the state and district level had already been completely repeated in February 2023.

According to a ruling by the Federal Constitutional Court, voting will take place on Sunday in 455 of 2,256 electoral districts and the associated postal voting districts, i.e. around a fifth.

The official participation figure is made up of the number of voters in the approximately 1,800 valid electoral district results from the main election in 2021 and those in the electoral districts in which voting will take place again.

If you just look at the voter turnout based on those currently eligible to vote, the figure for 12 p.m. is 18.3 percent, according to the announcement.

The highest voter turnout at lunchtime was recorded in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf constituency (29.3 percent), the lowest in Pankow at 20.9 percent.
